MTX FILM is a Magnetically Tunable Photonic Crystal Material. The strength of the magnetic field is measured in Gauss. Depending on the Gauss reading, the film will change colour accordingly. When placed on a complicated magnetic array, the film might change into up to 7 different colours simultaneously.

MTX-Film has the advantage that as soon as it is taken away from the magnetic field it will immediately revert back to it's original colour.
This listing is for 11 different sizes of MTX-Film, which are NOT housed in a black thick paper frame. This means that the film of thickness 150~200 (μm) which is very flexible, is able to be wrapped around any curved or irregularly shaped object to test for the magnetic field.
The photo shows the film having changed colour when placed onto 12 disc magnets. Above the magnets the Gauss reading is fairly low, with orange and yellow colouration. There are complex magnetic field interactions in between magnets that generally show higher Gauss readings, indicated by various shades of green and blue on the film. Some areas where the direction of adjacent magnetic poles have cancelled out the field the film has not changed colour, indicaticating effectively no magnetic field.
